Puerta Real (Royal Gate)

This Spanish arch, built in 1878-1880, stands
at the western entrance of the town. It is the old town gate
and is also known as the "Arko" as well as the arch
of Guadalupe.
The view faces east down Rizal Street, which was once called
the "Calle Real" or the Royal Road.
From 1668 to 1858, Pagsanjan was the capital of Laguna.
